Nature fix, green recovery and slack bloggers

Almost three years since my last personal blog post? What kind of a good-for-nothing writer am I? Well, a busy one as it turns out - something that I am extremely thankful for given all that is going on in the world right now.

So, what’s been happening? Well, the John Muir Trust, like many conservation bodies around the UK, has added its voice to the call for nature (and our relationship with it) to play a key role in tackling the economic challenges posed by Covid. Health, wellbeing and economic recovery are all now very much joined at the hip.

You can read about the Trust’s approach to a ‘green recovery’, plus the inside story on one of Scotland’s biggest community buyouts, efforts to restore specialist habitat in upland areas of the UK, ‘ecological citizenship’ and much more in the Autumn 20 edition of the John Muir Trust Journal, out now.
